Alberta married Sam Clark on 20 August 1929 in Danville, Vermilion County, Illinois. They were the parents of 3 children, all born in Vermilion county: Sammy Eugene Clark (1930-1984), Josephine Adeline Clark (1932-1999), and Harold Hobert Clark (1934-1934). During the 1930's, Alberta and family moved to Monmouth, and were later joined there by her widowed father, Hiram Alvin Richards. While raising her two surviving children, Alberta attended and graduated from beauty school in nearby Galesburg.
After her children left home, Alberta and Sam moved to Kansas for a time, then Cincinnati, Ohio. They also lived in the Boswell, Indiana area. Following Sam's retirement, they returned to Monmouth where Alberta continued her career as a beautician. Sam died on 22 February 1976, less than a year after returning to Monmouth.
Alberta was survived by her son Sammy and daughter Josephine, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
