In 1916, the family left farming in Wayne County and moved to Rossville. There, her husband worked as a fireman for the Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railroad for over 33 years. It was during this time that Addie, his wife of 36 years died, on 8 April 1936.
Clara had been a member of the Rossville Church of Christ, and a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was survived by two sisters, Miss Tillie Clark of Fairfield, Illinois and Mrs. Kate (Arthur) Miller of Burbank, California; twin brother Robert Clark of Decatur and brother Ira Clark of Missouri; daughter Alberta Flo Clark; sons Jesse Robert and James Clark Alvin Richards; and 6 grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, 5 children, and 5 brothers and sisters.
