Rockwell City – M. Michael Collins, 79, passed away Monday, September 14, 2020 at Accura HealthCare of Pomeroy to join his heavenly Father. Mike fought courageously a battle of dementia and cancer yet maintaining his sense of humor and a smile.

Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Rockwell City, with Fr. Lynn Bruch officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Those attending the Funeral Mass are required to wear masks and observe social distancing. Burial will be at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. A Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. The Funeral Service will be live streamed via Palmer & Swank Funeral Home FaceBook page. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

Mike is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Kam (Amy), Christy (Mark), and Tony (Sue); seven grandchildren, Katelyn, Emma, Brennan, Brandon (Katie), Brianna, Lindsay and Whitney (Casey); one great-grandchild, Tate; sister, Mary (Gary); and many loving extended family members and loyal friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Chet Collins; daughter, Kathy Ann Collins; his parents, Leo and Rose (Masterson) Collins; and brothers, Jim, Bill, Larry, and Jerry Collins.

Maurice Michael Collins was born March 4, 1941. After retiring from a life of trucking, Mike loved working in his shop, working for Martin Hildreth Co., and area farmers kept him happy and busy. Mike was a faithful member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
