Married Amelia Josephine Brock on 21 July 1880 in Harvey County, Kansas
Halstead Independent (Halstead, Kansas), 15 Apr 1887, Fri, Page 3
Joseph Davis, whose severe injury by being thrown from the wagon, we noted last week, died at the Commercial Hotel in this city Saturday morning. He was only conscious a portion of the time after the accident. At times he could let his wants be known, but he was unable to hear anything that was said to him owing to the injuries received in his head. He was buried in the Fairview cemetery, Saturday afternoon. He leaves a wife and three children, an aged father and mother and several brothers and sisters to mourn his loss. The eldest child is about six years old and the youngest about eight months. The independent extends its sympathies to the bereaved friends.
