She graduated from Adel High School in 1927. She did housework until she married Emory Robinson, who came to Dallas Center from Pennsylvania for the summer of 1929, staying with his uncle, Clarence Gehr. Emory came to Iowa to stay in 1930 and he and Lois were married on April 1, 1933. In September of 1939, they moved to Panora where Emory opened his own produce and feed business. She lived in Panora until her health failed and she moved to Spurgeon Manor in April of 1999.
She transferred her membership to the Panora Church of the Brethren, where she was a faithful member until she died. At the time of her death, she was the oldest member of that congregation. She also was a member of the Panora Women's Club and was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed living her life as a housewife, mother, reading, gardening and her houseplants. She enjoyed crocheting, counting cross-stitch and playing bridge.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Jane and husband Dennis Holliday of Des Moines; son, William and wife Diane Robinson of Merced, CA; eight grandchildren, Mike Parks of Cheyenne, WY; Joan Briggs of Centerton, AR, Jeffrey Robinson of Falcon, CO, Peni Griffin of San Antonio, TX, Pegi Dalton of Hondo, TX, Amy Robinson and Becky Robinson, both of Merced, CA, and Christy Robinson of Las Vegas, NV; five great-grandchildren, Brandon Parks and BreeAnn Keeney, both of Cheyenne, WY, Matthew and Christopher Briggs, both of Centerton, AR, and Hannah Dalton of Hondo, TX; one great-great- grandchild, Randalynn Keeney of Cheyenne, WY; three sisters, Lucille Diddy of Ridge Manor, FL, Jessie Blomquist of Stuart and Mary Cunningham of Perry; two brothers, Philip of Adel and Charles of Avon, IN; sister-in-law, Darlene Messamer of Adel; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emory (Robby); two sisters, Hazel Price of Dallas Center and Fae Mitchell of Mesa, AZ; and two brothers, Maurice (Tim) of Adel and Theodore (Ted) Roy, Jr. of Knoxville.
Her body has been donated to the University of Iowa and her eyes to the Iowa Lions Eye Bank.
