He was born January 16, 1937 in Berrien County to the late Willie E. Day and the late Naydell Jones Day. He was retired from the Berrien County Board of Education as an HVAC technician and was also employed with the J. H. Harvey Co. for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his wife: Dorothy Dianne Garrison Day who died in 2011; daughter: Patricia Dianne Rudeseal; two brothers: Bill Day and Tuten Day.
He is survived by a daughter: Elizabeth "Missy" (Scott) Keith of Nashville; son: Joe Bob (Ronda) Day of Ray City; sister: Dorothy (Steve) Piazza of Statesboro; five grandchildren: Kaylee Day Kilpatrick, Chinna Addison, Karrie Day Carr, Dracey Keith and Rachel Keith; six great grandchildren; best friend, Dachshund: Mommy.
Funeral services will be held Saturday September 5, 2020 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Vernon Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in Long Bridge Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday one hour prior to the service.
