Cornelius Elting died suddenly Monday evening at the home of his son, Wilbur Elting, in Modena. Mr. Elting who was 73 years of age, was born in New Paltz and was a retired farmer at the time of his death. He is survived by two sons, Wilbur of Modena and Robert of Brooklyn; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Bennett of Mt. Marion and Mrs. Arthur Wynkoop of Gardiner; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and nieces. His wife, Sarah Smith Elting died two years ago. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the V. T. Pine and Son Funeral Home in New Paltz with the Rev. John Dykstra of Gardiner Reformed Church officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Rural Cemetery.
