Newton Coy, Jr., 81, of Springfield, died Monday, March 15, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born January 27, 1923 in Virginia, IL the son of Newton Charles, Sr. and Hazel Birnbaum Coy. He married Virginia Howard September 1, 1946 in Springfield. An infant daughter, Jacqueline Coy preceded him in death.
Mr. Coy was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during WWII. Prior to entering the service he was employed at Sangamo Electric. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and worked at Coy's Market as the meat cutter.
Survivors: wife Virginia; two daughters and one son; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one sister: Betty Lou Dalbey.
