Leora Elizabeth (Johnson) Armstrong, 94 of Pineville, Missouri, entered into Glory on Thursday, August 13, 2014, at the Golden Living Center after months of failing health.

Leora began her earthly journey on April 4, 1920, near Cyclone, Missouri, daughter of the late Ralph Alexander and Myrtle (Wylie) Johnson. On September 3, 1939, she was united in marriage to Henry Carl Armstrong and to this union two daughters and three sons were born. They spent a few short years in Uncas, Oklahoma, before returning home to Pineville. Leora was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. She made desserts for any and all, giving of herself to others. She always had kind words to say about all her family and friends. Leora was a longtime faithful member of the Pineville First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Carl Armstrong; two daughters, Charlotte Ann Gardner and Sharon Lynn Shriner; an infant son, Joe Lee Armstrong; one grandson, Darrell Wayne Gardner; three brothers, Arlie, Edward and Billy Johnson; and three sisters, Emma Austin, Eula Mustain and Mamie Bittle.

She is survived by two sons, Jim Armstrong and wife, Faith, of Pineville, Missouri and Rick Armstrong of Kempner, Texas; two sisters, June Ruddick of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Vita Abercrombie of Buffalo, Missouri; six grandchildren, Alicia Ann (Gardner) Bayley and husband, Bruce, of Gravette, Arkansas, Cheri Lynn (Armstrong) Cowin and husband, Daniel, of Pineville, Missouri, Cynthia Diane (Armstrong) Sutherland and husband, Joel, of Springfield, Missouri, Tara (Armstrong) Washington and husband, Jovan, of Killeen, Texas, Rex Shriner and wife, Tai of Kansas City, Missouri, Brian Shriner and wife, Holly, of Overland Park, Kansas; eleven great grandchildren, Morgan and Jessica Bayley, Hannah and Matthew Cowin, Hayden and Sloane Shriner, Hope and Leah Shriner, Chloe and Luke Sutherland and Olivia Washington.

Funeral Services will be held at the Tri-City Community Church, 2:00 PM Saturday, August 16, 2014, with Reverend Kenneth Cowin, Daniel Cowin and Larry Crawford officiating.
