Vera Muhlhauser of Westbury, NY, passed away at the age of 89 on September 7, 2007. Vera, nee Dejml, was born to Frantisek M. and Alzbeta Vanck Dejml on January 18, 1918 in Wilber, Nebraska. Vera is survived by her husband, Walter, two sons, Steven and John Dejml Muhlhauser, and a daughter, Lizabeth Ann Muhlhauser. She also leaves five grandchildren, Carey Marie and Kimberly Michelle Muhlhauser, Kathryn Ellyn Muhlhauser Fleckenstein, Shannon Alyssa Muhlhauser, and Steven Alexander Muhlhauser and a great-grandson, Killian James Denton. Vera was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Milan and Milos. Prior to having children, Vera was a Teacher and then a Registered Nurse in Nebraska. She was an active volunteer in her children's schools, a Girl Scout Leader and Den Mother, a Tutor for the Literacy Volunteers of America- Nassau County, Inc. and an Election Poll Worker in Carle Place. Vera was a long-time member and Officer in the V.F.W. Auxiliary to Posts #945 Westbury, and #3211 Hicksville.
Buried at the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
