Vancouver Forestry Draft C.E.F. rank Private. Served France with the 48th Company.
Resides Vancouver with wife Jessie and children Harold age 8 and Winnifred age 5 years. Father deceased, mother Catherine Charlotte Rippon resides Beverley, England.

Blacksmith, Church of England. Medium complexion, hazel eyes, brown hair, scar through left eyebrow, scar inner side right thigh, 5'7-1/2". Tattoos: right forearm - ballet girl and cross hands and heart; lower left forearm - 2 spots; front of right forearm - dagger. Attn: Dental Corps.

Derangement of right knee - unfit for service. Discharged May 28, 1918.
- While on duty in South African War, his horse was shot from under him, horse fell on right leg, since which time to present he has complained of locking of knee, inability to march. Operation performed at that time, his leg is no better for the operation.
