Edna D. Wright Banks, 88, went to be with the Lord Friday, April 5, 2013.

Born April 30, 1924, in Tyner, Jackson County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Sam Wright and Lillie Ward Wright.
Edna was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

Edna was preceded in death by not only her parents, but also her husband of 64 years, Leonard William Banks; great-grandchildren, Mark Chaney and Kayla Morris; brothers, Fred Wright, Henry Wright, and Walker Wright; and sisters, Mary Wright Spivey, Pearl Wright Moore, Martha Wright Banks, Alma Wright and Mattie Wright.

Surviving are six children; one brother; two sisters; 20 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and neighbors.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 8, 2013, at Lakes Funeral Home with Brothers Gary Farmer and Wes Judd officiating. Burial followed in Banks Cemetery.

Pallbearers were her grandsons.
