Loretta Heath Baker, aged 55, was diagnosed in October of 2015 with breast cancer. After four and a half long years of fighting, she won the victory and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at her residence in Maben, Mississippi surrounded by her loved ones.
Mrs. Baker was born on August 5, 1964 to the late Billy F. and Syble Vance Heath of Maben, Mississippi. Her dream as a child was to be a mother. She raised and homeschooled four children of her own and was a great part of each one's life. She loved to write poems, read, listen to music, and spend time with her family. She was a proud member of Bethel Baptist Church in Cumberland, Mississippi and will be greatly missed by her church family.
Mrs. Baker was an only child and is survived by her husband, Murry Baker of Maben, and four children. Her three sons are Heath (Clarissa) Crenshaw of Maben, Mississippi; Caleb (Hanna) Baker of Wichita Falls, Texas; and Ferrell Baker of Maben, Mississippi. Her daughter is Amanda (Ben) Harris of Maben, Mississippi. She had seven grandchildren, Rachel, Ellen, Landon, Nolan, Josiah, Thomas, and Case.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Billy F. and Syble Vance Heath.
Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Loretta Heath Baker are Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Self-Creek Baptist Church in Oktibbeha County with Brother Dean Butler officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Self-Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be at Self-Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
