Loren "Skip" Lewis Anson, 92, a resident of Van Duyn Nursing Facility in Syracuse, formerly of Syracuse and Utica, passed away Monday, September 3, 2007 at the home. Loren was born in Kirkland on July 17, 1915, the son of Lewis Oscar and Lillian (Saunders) Anson. He was raised and educated locally. On July 10, 1939, Loren married Delia Van Hatten in Utica. Mrs. Anson passed away in 2004. Loren served his country during World War II with the US Army. For many years, Skip owned and operated his own service station, Anson Midway Service. He later became a trick horse rider in the rodeo and was last employed by Nob Hill Apts., in Syracuse until his retirement. Skip belonged to several organizations, including the Maynard Fire Dept., of which he was one of the founders, the Loyal Order of the Moose, the Whitesboro American Legion Post #1113, the 40 et 8, Voiture #92. He was a member of St. Joseph - St. Patrick's Church, Utica. Skip is survived by three daughters and one son, Rebecca Anson, Marcy, Patricia and Joseph Aiello, Utica, Theresa and Robert Wyzina, Utica, Roger Anson, and his companion, Sandy Kaljeskie, Syracuse; six grandchildren, Michelle and her husband, Russ, Joey, Kristen, Rachael, Wayne, and Donna; one brother, Virgil Anson, Schuyler; a foster sister, Virginia Tracy, Mohawk. He is predeceased by a son, DeWitt Anson, a brother, Leonard Anson, and a sister, Lois Anson Pfluke Hayes. Mr. Anson's funeral service will be held Friday evening, September 7, 2007 at 7:30 pm at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitestown will take place at the convenience of the family.
