Ex-Sheriff's Deputy Also Was Painter
Henry L. Abbott, 85, of 2114 Horton St., a former sheriff's deputy, died yesterday in Mercy Hospital.
Born in Bowling Green, Mr. Abbott lived here 58 years. He was a self-employed painter for many years. Later, he was a sheriff's deputy for 15 years, retiring in 1958. He was a member of Barton Smith Lodge, F&AM.
Surviving are his wife, Edith P., sisters, Mrs. Lilah Achtermann, Toledo, and Mrs. Lorene Cox, Bowling Green; three grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Bennett Mortuary, Adams Street, with burial in Toledo Memorial Park.
