Larry Dallas Ball, age 56 of Raven, Virginia, passed away Monday, September 3, 2007. Born in Doran, Virginia he was the son of the late Dahmon Andrew and Marcella Hunt Ball. He was a lifelong resident of the Raven area. He was an employee of Pittston and was retired from Alpha Natural Resources. He was a member of UMWA. Larry was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and ginseng hunt. He will be missed by all who knew him.


In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his former wife, Jean Welch Ball; and his second wife, Rita Harman Ball.


Survivors include two daughters, Angie Haines and husband Edward of Montclair, NJ and Tabitha Ball of Richlands; one son, Larry Andrew Ball of the home; three brothers, Wayne Ball of Raven, Dahmon (Ikey) Ball and wife Tilda of Raven and Dennis (Dink) Ball and wife Pat of Cedar Bluff; three sisters, Kathy Davis and husband James of Swords Creek, Beth Taylor and husband Eddie of Belington, WV and Shelia Joyce of Raven; two grandchildren, Edward Dahmon Haines and Thea Haines both of Montclair, NJ; several nieces and nephews also survive.
