Benton Curtis services set for Saturday

Benton Curtis, 82, Franklin route one, died Wednesday morning at Johnson County Memorial Hospital after a five-week illness.

Born March 14, 1891, in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, to Henderson and Mabel Moore Curtis, he had lived in the Johnson county area for 50 years and at Stones Crossing for 16 years.

Curtis was a farmer and was prceded in death by his wife, Ona Belle Eads Curtis, about seven years ago. He was a member of the Fair Haven Christian church.

Survivors include three daughters, Elsie Mabry of Trafalagar, Wanda Walden of Franklin and Mary Etta Denham of Pittsboro, Ind.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one sister and four half-brothers in Kentucky.

Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday at J.C. Wilson Greenwood chapel, where friends may call after 6 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn cemetery in Franklin.
