Luvenia “Lou”, her mother, died at age 35, in Lincoln, IL, and the children went to live at the Bloomington, IL Soldiers & Sailors Home (Orphanage) as the children's father, an injured Civil War Soldier, was not able to care for them. Pearle’s siblings moved on from there to have families of their own. In June 1914, at age 12, Pearle was transferred to the Lincoln Developmental Center in Lincoln, IL. (We have not been able to find out her diagnosis or disability.) She lived there until she died at age 58. We discovered that she is buried at the Developmental Center Cemetery located behind Lincoln Correctional Center, Lincoln, IL. Section 4, Grave 25.
