Francis "Bernice" Dooley, 85, of Beckley went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 30, 2011. Bernice was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed crafts, painting and loved to cook for her family and friends. She attended schools in North Carolina and West Virginia. Bernice was a homemaker, a member of the Family Worship Center and a past member of the WV Silver Haired Legislature.
Born December 21, 1925 in Meadowview, VA, she was the daughter of the late Robert Osborne (Deceased) and Myrtle Osborne-Farmer (Deceased). In addition to her parents, Bernice is preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Clair Leslie Browning (1916-1984); her second husband, Otis Dooley (Deceased); sons, Stephen Keith Browning I (1950-2011) and Gary Browning (Deceased).
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Sharon Browning-Aliff & husband Edsel Aliff of Foster, WV, Carolyn Browning-Becker & husband George Becker of Lookout, WV, Sandra Browning-Childers & husband Douglas Childers of Richmond, VA, Leisha Browning-Brotherton & husband David Brotherton of Ypsilanti, MI; sons, Norman Browning & wife Lisa Browning of Richmond, VA, Nolan Browning & wife Freda Browning of Myrtle Beach, SC and Raymond Browning & wife Linda Browning of Beckley, WV; sixteen grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Rev. Boyd England officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
