Velma Ruth Jackson Harvey, age 88 of Oneonta, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 22, 1932 in Etowah County to the late Levi Jackson and Fannie McCay Jackson. Velma was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oneonta for over 60 years. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Bob Sloan and daughter, Sally Sloan Ruden; parents, Levi and Fannie Jackson; brothers, Ralph, Leon and Wayne Jackson; sisters, Mildred Smith, Dorothy Garrard and Doris Wilson. She leaves to cherish her memory by her loving husband, Bob Harvey; daughter, Cindy (Ron) Parks; son, Fred (Patricia) Harvey; son in law, Warren Ruden; grandchildren, Andrew (Katie) Parks, Ben (Sara) Parks, Jordan Parks, Lauren Parks, Brad Harvey, Steven Harvey, Julianna (Seth) Keith and Taylor Ruden; eight great grandchildren; brothers, Ray and Jerry Jackson. Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020 at 10:00 AM from Oak Hill Cemetery with Bro. Larry Gipson officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Parks, Ben Parks, Jordan Parks, Taylor Ruden, Lauren Parks, Julianna Keith, Brad Harvey and Steven Harvey.
