Dolly was the daughter of Walker and Nancy "Nannie" Walling Ferrell. Her parents are buried in Weches Cemetery. She is buried between husbands, James A. Knox and Harry Clayton Rose.

OBITUARY: Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, Monday, 31 August 1987:

Services for Dolly Rose, 85, of Palestine, will be at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Elkhart with the Rev. Bobbie Weber officiating. Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rose died Saturday at Anderson County Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Houston County on Jan. 8, 1902, a daughter of Walker S. and Nancy Walling Ferrell. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Elkhart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Knox in 1936, and Harry Rose in 1953.

Survivors include her daughters, Mrs. Oswald (Mary Frances) Paxton of Plano and Mrs. Charles (Betty) Denson of Palestine; sons, James A. Knox of Dallas; sisters, Clara Warren of Grapeland and Eunice Knox of Palestine; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren,

Pallbearers will be Gary Denson, Mike Denson, Chris Knos, Mitch Paxton, Tracey Denson and Oscar Knox.
