Resided in Montpelier until 1942 when the family moved to Lima, Montana. Gilbert worked on the railroad most of his life. In later years, he and Wanda moved to Pocatello. He was in a car accident and never fully recovered. He was bedridden for a long while and later died at his home.
He loved cameras and taking pictures.
