** Grandma Poor, of Clinton township, wife of Wendell Poor, died on August 3d. She was born January 22d, 1811, in Hawkins county, East Tennessee, and with her parents moved to Indiana in 1818.
She was converted to God at the age of ten or eleven years, and united with the M. E. Church under the ministry of Rev. Geo. Richards.
She was married to the husband who now mourns her departure, on November 10, 1840, in Jackson county, Indiana, and with him came to Ringgold county on October 10, 1854, and in which she lived until her Heavenly Father called her to join the heavenly hosts in glory.
She was attached to and loved the doctrines of the M. E. Church, and her house was the preacher's home. For near three score years she had endeavored to serve the Master.
On being asked by her weeping husband a few minutes before her departure, if "the waters were chilly," she replied, "No, that God was with her."
She leaves a husband and several children who sorely lament their loss. A large assembly were in attendance at the funeral services.
