STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — Adelaide "Bunny" Ver Straten, 74, of Steubenville died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, in Harrison Community Hospital in Cadiz.

She was born Jan. 27, 1932, in Steubenville, daughter of the late Chester S. and Stella Cybulski Kalin.

Surviving are one son, Richard Ver Straten of Steubenville; one daughter, Robin Flaherty of Steubenville; one sister, Lou Wenzowski of Steubenville; one grandson, Michael Thompson; her aunt Clara Kalin of Weirton; one nephew, Doug Wenzowski of Steubenville; one niece, Lori (Joe) More of Pittsburgh; a great-nephew, Dante More of Pittsburgh; and several cousins.

Bunny was a graduate of Steubenville High School Class of 1950. She was a former operator for Ohio Bell and retired in 1990 from Weirton Steel, accounts receivable department. She served her country in the Navy during the Korean War.

Bunny was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was past president of the Parish Council; a member of the St. Francis Society; and the American Legion Argonne Post 33. She served several terms as president of the former St. John Medical Center Women's Auxiliary.

Calling hours are today, 7-9 p.m. and Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Richard Tuttle, celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

There will be a Rosary service Friday at 3:30 and a Vigil service at 3:45 p.m.
