Laura was the 6th child of Edward Athy and Henrietta Ruckles-Athy of Hardin, Ill. Laura Married Levi Smith Fowler on May 6, 1896 in Calhoun Co. Ill. the mother of 4 children 1 dying at about 8 months. Laura and Levi moved to Los Angels in the 1930's Between 1930-1934 their marriage ended in divorce and Laura moved to Oregon to be with her children who had moved there. She died at about 86 years old and is buried at the Sunset Cemetery in Coos Bay, Oregon.
Laura's daughter Edna Lenore Fowler-McLain-Sheckler is also buried at Sunset Cemetery in Coos Bay, OR.
