Akiko Gadberry, age 73, of Florissant, Missouri passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020, in Bridgeton, Missouri. She was born on February 28, 1947 in Ishikawa, Japan, the daughter of the late Ryusei Ganaha and Hatsuko (nee Ginoza) Ganaha.

Akiko is survived by her husband of 44 years, Cletus T. Gadberry; two children, Georgette Vallely (husband, Jerry) and Kathy Gadberry; three grandchildren, Jack Vallely, Grace Vallely, and Evan Vallely; one sister, Ikuko Higa; one brother, Takashi Ganaha; and five nieces, Maki Ganaha, Satsuki Ganaha, Minako Higa, Chikako Higa, and Tamami Higa.

Akiko enjoyed working with children, sewing, visiting the Missouri Botanical Gardens, and spending time with her family.

Services: Visitation at SHEPARD FUNERAL CHAPEL, 9255 Natural Bridge Road at I-170, St. Louis, Missouri 63134 (314-426-6000) on Friday, July 24 from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m.

Burial follows at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road, St. Louis, Missouri.
