Freddie Joseph Varisco passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 87. He was born on Monday, June 20, 1932 in Hammond, Louisiana to the late Margaret Bonaccorso and Sal Varisco. He was a native and a resident of Hammond, Louisiana, and a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church.
Fredd is survived by his significant other, Eva Hebert; children, Kristie Chabreck, Francine Zahn, Sal Varisco, and Darrel Paul Varisco; grandchildren, Danielle Rider (Randy), John J. Chabreck IV, Lauren Zahn, Haley Zahn, Brittney Varisco Trahan (Zach), Cory Varisco (Hayley), and Austen Petz; and great-grandchildren, Penelope Varisco, Renwick Rider, and Maverick Rider; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Freddie was also preceded in death by his there older brothers, Sal Varisco, Jr., Martin Varisco and Charles Varisco; and his son-in-law, John Joseph Chabreck.
Freddie loved his country. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, as well as the Air National Guard and the United States Air Force Reserve.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, July 20, 2020, at Harry McKneelyou and Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, beginning at 9:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM.
