Bertrand, MO - John Albert Peters Sr., 91, of Bertrand died Sunday April 3, 2005, at Sikeston Convalescent Center.
He was born on June 2, 1913, in Pontotoc, Miss., son of John Karl and Virginia Savely Peters.
He married Mabel Ann Woods on Oct. 19, 1935.
He had lived in Bertrand most of his life and farmed until his retirement. He was a member of Bertrand First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Bertrand; seven sons, John Albert Peters Jr., David Peters and Larry Peters, Mike Peters, Jerry Peters, Ricky Peters, and Steve Peters; three daughters, Barbara Miller, Donna Peters, and Dianne Babb; a brother, Carl Peters; 26 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, two brothers and three sisters.
Visitation and services were held at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston with the Revs. Bob Herring and Dolan Rogers officiating.
Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
