Civil War Veteran; married Ellender Caroline Edwards Feb. 16, 1843 in Meridian, Lauderdale Co., MS. Moved from MS to Winn Parish, LA, leaving with other families Oct. 29, 1865 and arriving Nov. 19,1865, settling at Sardis, LA in Winn Parish. Member Sardis Baptist Church. Moved to Grant Parish (Hargis)with wife and several children around 1900.
CSA Service: enlisted for three years as a Private on March 17, 1862 in Tippah County, MS. He was enlisted by Capt. Huddleston. He was wounded twice -- 1862 and 1863. Confederate Records - 34- Miss. show he enlisted for three years as private, Co. G, 37 Reg't Mississippi Inf. (this company subsequently became Company G,34th Regiment MS Infantry).
