Marvin 'Mouse' W. Keener, 61, of 341 Troy Center Road, Titusville, died at 10:26 a.m. Monday Jan. 19, 2009, at Titusville Hospital.
Born April 3, 1947, in Franklin, he was the son of the late James C. Keener and Dora H. Morrison.
He was married July 12, 1969, to Agnes M. Heffern, who survives.
Mr. Keener was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves, and was retired after 30 years as a mechanic at Joy Manufacturing.
Mr. Keener was a member of Diamond United Methodist Church and of the Chapmanville VFD, where he was the assistant chief for several years and treasurer for several terms. He enjoyed his family, NASCAR, watching dirt track racing, hunting, the Pittsburgh Steelers, his John Deere Tractor, and was a fan of Darrell Bossard #22B.
Mr. Keener also enjoyed his friends at Donovan-Bauer Auto Group and going to the casinos.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Keener is survived by four children; Kevin C. Keener and his wife, Vera, of Oil City, Keith M. Keener and his wife, Racheal, of Cooperstown, Kimberly Keener of Titusville, and Keller Keener, of Titusville, and her special friend, Jeremiah Haugh, of Oil City; two grandchildren, Justin Grove and Kayne Denny, both of Oil City; a sister, Marilyn Sherman and her husband, Danny, of Wattsburg; five brothers, Donald O. Keener of Ridgeway, Melvin "Turtle" E. Keener and his wife, Diane, of Chapmanville, Jimmie E. Keener and his wife, Sandy, of Franklin David L. Keener of Franklin, and Clarence "Ike" Keener of Franklin.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Keener is preceded in death by his step-father, John H. Vogan, and two brothers, James C. Keener Jr. and Richard G. "Dick" Keener.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev Stephen Tiffany of Diamond United Methodist Church officiating.
