US Congressman. He was admitted to the bar in 1837, commenced law practice in Danville, Pennsylvania and was District Attorney of Montour County, 1852 to 1857. In 1857, he was elected as a Democrat to the Thirty-fifth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of John G. Montgomery and served until 1859. A unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed the practice of law until his death.
