ALEDO--Mrs. Nannie Emrick, 83, of Aledo died last night in Mercy Hospital, Urbana, where she had been a patient for the past three weeks after suffering a paralytic stroke in Urbana. At the time she was stricken, Mrs. Emrick, widow of Edward Emrick, Aledo businessman, was en route to Aledo with her daughter, Miss Nancy, from Florida, where she had spent the winter.
Mrs. Emrick, the former Nannie Love, was born Sept. 23, 1874, five miles northwest of Aledo. She was married July 3, 1895, to Mr. Emrick in Aledo. She had resided all her life in or near Aledo, with the exception of eight years when the family home was in Ottawa.
She was a member of the Aledo Presbyterian Church and of the Mercer County Chapter, PEO Sisterhood.
Surviving are a son, Edward E., Ashland, Ky.; three daughters, Mrs. Herschel J. Blazer and Miss Nancy, both of Aledo, and Mrs. Arnold Blanch, nationally known as artist Doris Lee, of Woodstock, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. William G. Dandy, San Carlos, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died March 31, 1935, and two sons, John and Phillip.
