R. E. "Dick" Hollinshead

R.E. "Dick" Hollinshead of Lubbock went home to his Heavenly Father Friday, Aug. 19, 2005.

Dick was born in Ogburn Aug. 16, 1916, and later married Nelldean Lawyer July 2, 1939. In 1957, Dick and Nelldean made their home in Lubbock. For over 33 years he worked as a sales representative with Hunt Wesson until retiring at the age of 65. Westmont Christian Church was their church home for the majority of their years in Lubbock. Dick was an avid outdoorsman, who especially enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Nelldean, May 15, 2005; and by his son, David.

Survivors include two sons, Gene Hollinshead and his wife Tiny, and Wayne Hollinshead. Additional survivors include his grandchildren, Rick, Jill, Jeff, Leann, J and Christy Hollinshead, and Brent and Ashley Graves; as well as eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Westmont Christian Church.
