Rome - Carmen Gratch, 85, of the Stonehedge Nursing Home, died Saturday in Rome Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Gratch was a retiree of General Cable Corp.
He was born in San Cataldo, Sicily, on June 24, 1887, son of
Angelo and Maria Graci Gratch.
He came to Dunmore, Pa., in 1907 and married Lucia Marcino there in 1913.
The couple came to Rome in 1916 and Mr. Gratch was employed by General Cable. Mrs. Gratch died Feb. 17, 1941.
In 1942, he married Mildred Graci who died in 1961.
Mr. Gratch was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and
the Galliano Club.
Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Lester (Mary) Fersch of Melbourne, Fla., Mrs. Dominick (Grace) Ciero of Miami, Fla., Mrs. Joseph (Carmella) Impicciatore and Mrs. Angelo A.(Josephine) Graci, both of Rome; three sons, Angelo and Charles A. Gratch, both of Rome, and Samuel Gratch of Utica; a sister, Mrs. Stephen (Victoria) Recchio of Rome; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Rome Daily Sentinel, Monday Evening, July 10, 1972
