Cassie Gerbers, 85, of Route 1, Scottville died Sunday shortly after admittance to Hackley Hospital, Muskegon. Cassie Cameron was born May 23, 1894 in Custer, the daughter of the late Angus and Margery (Campbell) Cameron. She graduated from Scottville High School and from Mason County Normal and had been a Scottville resident all her life.
She was married June 3, 1920 to Walter Gerbers and he survives. Also surviving are one son, Joseph Abby of Texas; three daughters, Virginia Mortensen, Margery Nerheim and Shirley Ruppert, all of Muskegon; two brothers, Robert Cameron of Muskegon and Cardinal Cameron of Ludington; two sisters, Claribel Bucholtz and Mildred Conrad, both of Ludington; and 14 grandchildren.
The funeral for Mrs. Gerbers will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Stephens Funeral Chapel, Scottville with the Rev. Thomas Hack officiating. Burial will be in Center Riverton Cemetery.
Friends may call at Stephens Funeral Chapel until time of services and the family will be present to receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight.
