Nancy Josephine Bertapelle was born Nov. 23rd, 1938 in Willows, California. She passed on June 24th, 2020 quietly in her sleep, in Chico, California. Nancy was the youngest of four surviving children born to Giuseppe and Maria(Cioeta) Bertapelle. She was the last of her immediate family to pass. Nancy attended Glenn County Schools and graduated from Willows High School in June 1957. She went on to train as a Certified Nurse Attendant and worked at Glenn Memorial Hospital for more than two decades. Nancy played an important role in the care of both her mom and dad as they went through their final days. She spent most of her life on the family farm in Glenn, California. Nancy had a love of her pets and roses. She adored her life in the country. She loved her friends as family and her neighbors as friends. Nancy held them all close to her heart. She was a long time member of Fraternal Order Eagles, which she enjoyed attending in her active years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Giuseppe and Maria Bertapelle; her sisters, Ellen Bertagna and June Lewis; and her brother, John Bertapelle. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Bernice Bertapelle. Although never wed, she is survived by many nieces and nephews that knew and loved her dearly. Please join us celebrating her life Thursday, July 9th, 2020 at 10 am at St. Monica’s Catholic Church, 1129 W. Wood St. Willows, Ca 95988. A brief blessing will happen at her final resting place, the Catholic (North side) of the Willows Cemetery following Mass. Due to the COVID situation, reservations for attendance at the Mass Celebration and cemetery must be made with Shan and Barbara Bertapelle, 530-342-1515. Masks and social distancing are required.
