Henry H. Roberts enlisted as a sergeant at San Francisco, Ca. on 26 Aug. 1861, and was mustered into Company B, 1st California Cavalry, at the Presidio of San Francisco 2 Sept. 1861. Sergeant Roberts mustered out for disability 20 Feb. 1863, and returned to his parents home in Illinois. After his death in 1866, his mother Sarah Roberts filed for a survivor's pension on 16 Apr. 1867, and received application No. 145,726
