Married on Oct. 24, 1906, Sigrid Marie Youngberg (Ljungberg) at Clarinda in Page County, Iowa. Sigrid was daughter of Carl Ljungberg and Sopia Marie Johnson. Children born to this marriage : Ivan, Eugenia, Irene, Pearl, and Lawrence. Nils was buried on Jan 17, 1972.

Funeral services for Nils W. Ahlstrand, 91, Herrick, were Monday at the Clausen Funeral Home in Burke with Rev. Charles Finney officiating.
Burial was in the Herrick Cemetery.
Mr. Ahlstrand was born Oct. 3, 1880 at Essex, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. John Ahlstrand and died at his home Jan. 13. On Oct. 24, 1906 he married Sigrid Youngberg at Clarinda, Iowa.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ted (Irene) Stevicks, Herrick; one son, Ivan, Richland Center, Wis.; 11 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Hilma Bakke and Betty Kersting, Sioux City.
