Mr. Brown Bowling, age 85, passed away September 3, 2014 at the Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY following a long illness. He was born April 20, 1929 in Perry County, KY at Bowling Town, was the son of the late Floyd and Lula Deaton Bowling, was the husband of Jackie Bowling, was retired from the Canteen Vending Company, was a member of the V. F. W. and was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bowling is survived by his wife: Mrs. Jackie Bowling of Morning View, KY, 6 granddaughters: Ms. Amber Wethington, Ms. Brittany Roberts, Ms. Bridgett Brewer, Ms. Carley Brewer, Ms. McKalee Brewer and Ms. Taylor Brewer and 2 great grandsons: Camdon Wethington and Waylon Roberts. Also surviving are 2 brothers: Mr. Elizah Bowling of Fairfield, OH and Mr. Richard Bowling of Florida, 3 sisters: Mrs. Eva Dezarn of Loveland, OH, Mrs. June Marshall of Booneville, KY and Mrs. Edna Jones of Norwood, OH. Also there are several other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Brown was preceded in death by his parents: Floyd and Lula Bowling, a stepson: Michael Brewer, 4 brothers: Roy, Thomas, John and Floyd, Jr. Bowling and 3 sisters: Loretta Bowling, Emma Woods and Louise Gerrard. Funeral services for Mr. Bowling were held Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 12:00 noon at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home. Officiating the services was the Rev. Rob Morgan with the burial and full military rites following at the Stonecoal Cemetery in Lee County, KY. The Searcy and Strong Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
