"O R Millard, Oil Pioneer, Dies in Tulsa - Oliver R Millard, 97, a Titusville native and oil pioneer, died in Tulsa General Hospital, Tulsa, Okla, on Sunday, May 30. He was born March 4, 1868, in a cabin located where the Colonel Drake Museum now stands. He worked in the oil fields of Pennsylvania, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. He was of the early oil producers on the Edwards lease at Watson Flats north of the Drake Well. He is survived by two sons, Wayne G Millard of Longview, Texas, and Lloyd D Millard of Emporia, Kan; and many nieces and nephews in the Titusville area. The funeral service was held last Wednesday, and interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery at Tulsa."

Mr Millard, who lived in Emporia for a few years in the 1920s, was the father of Lloyd Millard, of Lake Kahola, and Wayne Millard, Wichita Falls, Tex. He was born March 4th, 1868, in Titusville, Pa, and had been engaged in the oil business for many years before his retirement."
