Lee M. Bernardini. Probably the most amazing, generous, devoted, loving man I have ever known, or known of. I think a quote from the Optimist International Club (which my father was a loyal member of) Creed defines his character in ways I do not yet have the strength to:
"To make all your friends feel that there is something in them,

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true,

To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best,

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own,

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future,

To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile,

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others,

To be too large for worry,
too noble for anger,
too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

I love you Dad, more than my heart can even express. I honestly think heaven gives us angels sometimes, who are simply too kind and selfless to be of this earth...and that while we are given the incomprehensible gift of their presence, we must eventually understand that the best belong with God. Dad, I was given the greatest gift I've ever known in having you as a friend and my father. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you. I miss you always.

My father and I at my cousins wedding. A beautiful evening, I had the blessing of not only being able to dance with my father, but to sing in honor of the blessed event as well. Deep down I know both he and I knew that dance might have to suffice for the one that might not happen on my own wedding day. I miss you Dad. Every moment shared with you was an absolute treasure.
