A member of the First Methodist Church, he was also a vice president of the Edna Gladney Foundation, a director of Northwest National Bank and a charter member of Colonial Country Club and the Fort Worth Club, as well as the Fort Worth Knife and Fork Club.
Also, he was a past potentate of the Moslah Shrine Temple; past president of the Texas State Shrine Association; Cabiri-an international association of the past potentates; 32nd Degree Mason;Worth Commandery, Knights Templar, Texas Chapter and Council; Polytechnic Masonic Lodge 925 and the Jesters.
Other affiliations include the Fort Worth District, Dental Society; Texas Dental Association; American Dental Association and the Roundtable.
A former TCU student, Dr. Garrison was a graduate of Emory University School of Dentistry and was a member of Xi Psi Fraternity.
Survivors Include: three sons, Dr.Burres West Garrison, Jr., Wiliam E. Garrison, David Otis Garrison of Fort Worth, Three daughters; Mrs. Charlotte Perry of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mrs. Grace Clingman of Fort Worth; Mrs. Corrine McCully of Irving, 2 sisters. Mrs. L. B. Benton of Fort worth, and Mrs. Charles R. Tate of Memphis, Tennessee;18 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Friday in Shannon's South Chapel, with burial in Greenwood.
