A beloved father, Fidey Joe Brown, age 81, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 21, 2017.

A resident of this area all of his life he was born on July 7, 1936, in Guilford County to the late Fidey Joe and Alice Howard Brown. Joe was owner/operator of Brown Electric of Jamestown and retired from Guilford County as an electrical inspector. He volunteered as a High Point Police Reserve officer for many years. He was an ordained deacon at Sedgefield Baptist Church, now Dillon Road Baptist. He had a heart for helping people and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by Millie Brown, two sons, Joe C. Brown (Robin) of Greensboro and Charlie Brown (Dena) of Efland and a daughter, Angela Hamilton (David) of High Point. Five grandchildren; Joe Brown, John Budwine (Madison), Cori Brown, Ryan Budwine and Bella Brown. Four great-grandchildren, Alanna Brown, and a set of triplets; Asher, Harper and Harley Budwine.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service on Eastchester Drive in High Point with the Reverend Robert Glasgow officiating. Graveside burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park in Greensboro. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
