Levi was born in 1813. He was the son of Joseph Hallowell and Nancy Jones. Levi was brother to Lovina Hallowell Cox (wife of John Cox). He married Mary Cox about 1838. They lived in Edmunds and had seven children: Rufus H Hallowell, Joseph J Hallowell, Julia Ann Hallowell, Dianthia M Hallowell, Enoch L Hallowell, Maria E Hallowell, and Levi C Hallowell. Dianthia, Maria, and Levi are buried in South Edmunds Cemetery (aka Lower Edmunds Cemetery) with their parents. Mary Cox was the daughter of Nathaniel Cox and Joanna Tenney. She passed away in 1883. Mary was sister to Lovina’s husband John Cox and to Nathaniel Cox III (both are buried in South Edmunds Cemetery). Levi passed away in 1865.
