Josefina F. Funda (Josie), 94, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Josefina Fabregas; and husband, Joseph R. Funda Sr. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Joey Funda Jr. and wife, Bari; daughters, Beverly San Andres, Mila Marek and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Brad Funda, Jamie Castillo and Crystal Baldwin and husband Casey; great grandchildren, Cameron Castillo, Colton Castillo, Faith Baldwin, with Cooper Funda on the way; and a host of other family and dear friends. Josie was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother (Mimi) that cherished spending time with her family. She found some of her greatest joy in the simple things and smiled brightly whenever she could hold her husband’s hand. Josie was strong in her faith and truly enjoyed her church family. She loved to fish, her weekly shopping trips and playing mahjong. She enjoyed watching her daytime television shows and hosting parties for her friends and family. Josie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Josefina’s honor to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital at www.stjude.org. A Celebration of Life for Josefina will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 pm with a Rosary recited at 2:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 201 South 3rd Street, La Porte, Texas 77571.
