Lyman E. Agnew Dies in 94th Year

Lyman Edward Agnew, 93, retired engineer of the Lehigh Valley railroad, who had resided with his daughter, Mrs. John Hall, Cream street, died here, yesterday. He had been ill for some time. Mr. Agnew, who had been the engineer on the famous "Black Diamond," was born in Scranton, Pa, and had resided in that vicinity for many years, coming here to make his home in 1929. Prior to coming here, Mr. Agnew had been the health officer for Columbia county, Pennsylvania, for 14 years. A member of the Methodist church in Pennsylvania, Mr. Agnew also was A 32nd degree Mason, having been a member of Landmark lodge, FAM, Wilkes Barre, Pa.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Helen Dennis Agnew, Chicago, and several sons and daughters including Lyman Agnew Jr.; Newman Agnew, here; Alfred Agnew, Waterbury, Conn: Mrs. John Hall; Mrs. George Starr; Mrs. Helen Amato and Ernest Agnew, here; Mrs Lena Irealdi, West Point and Stanley Agnew, Fort Knox, Ky.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Selfridge Funeral home, 24 South Hamilton street, at 11 o'clock tomorrow morning. Dr. Frederick J Baum, minister of St John's Evangelical Lutheran church, will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
