Mrs. Esther Puryear Tillotson, 89, wife of Frank Barrow Tillotson, died Thursday, April 21, 2005 in South Boston. Native to Halifax County, she was the daughter of Howard Lee and Minnie Idora Forlines Puryear. Mrs. Tillotson graduated with the class of 1933 from Virgilina High School. A member of Hitesburg Baptist Church, she worked at J.P. Stevens until the birth of her children; then later worked for Russell Stover for 8 years. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Tillotson is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Deborah T. and Bob Puckett of Durham, NC; son, Abraham Mays Tillotson of Virgilina; grandchildren, Jon Puckett of Wilmington, NC and David Puckett of Greenville, NC. Also surviving are sisters, Clara Wimmer of Raleigh, NC; Myrtis Brown of Reidsville, NC; Katherine Kimbrough of Gordonsville; and Virginia Morris of Virgilina. Mrs. Tillotson was a resident of Virgilina, VA. at the time of death.
