Pamela "Pam" (Pestana) Gavel died Nov. 4, 2005, at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was 50.
Mrs. Gavel was born in Cambridge on Aug. 10, 1955, daughter of Mary MacLeod of Somerville and the late Joseph Pestana Sr., and was a lifelong resident of Somerville. She was a homemaker.
She was the wife of the late David Gavel; sister of Joseph Pestana Jr. of Stoneham, Manuel Pestana of Waltham, and Arthur MacLeod and Mary Ronan, both of Somerville. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Nov. 9 at the Cota-Struzziero-McKenna Funeral Home in Somerville, with burial at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.
