Angelee was the daughter of William Thomas "Pink" Wallace & Tennessee Jane Rorie McGee Wallace Staggs. She was the wife of Lawrence Addison "Add" Payne & the mother of Jimmie Roe Payne & Terry Lee Payne. She was the stepmother of Deane Payne Parker. Angelee's siblings were Zada, Vada, Myrtle, Julia, Neva, Nita, & Ishmell.

Angelee's ancestors were historic figures of both the Revolutionary War & the War Between the States. The Beaver family cemetery located near Beaver Dam, south of Eureka Springs, AR tells the family history of her Beaver, Pendergrass, & Cargile families. Her Rorie, Ticer & Wallace ancestors were early settlers in the Stone County Arkansas area.
