Lillian M. Bollei, 93, of 419 Grant St., died Sunday, Nov. 27, 1994, at Mercy Hospital after a long illness. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The Rev. Rick Poster will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Callahan Funeral Home, with a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the church. Mrs. Bollei was born March 24, 1901, in Newport Township, near Solon, to Joseph and Barbara (Stinocher) Kabela. She attended Newport Township schools and married Elmer Bollei Nov. 29, 1933, at St. Mary's Church in Solon. He died March 1, 1973. They moved to Iowa City in 1933. She was a housekeeper for Delta Upsilon fraternity, a babysitter and a volunteer at the Senior Center. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and Iowa City Moose Lodge. Survivors include one son, David, and his wife, Rose, of Tiffin; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Florence Chaloupka and Emily Sasina, both of Iowa City. One daughter, Doris, one granddaughter, three brothers, and one sister also died earlier. Published in the Iowa City Press-Citizen, Nov. 27, 1994.
